Job Description

Step into a Day of Precision

You arrive to a clean, 5S-organized cell and open the day’s travelers. First up: metallic and non‑metallic parts with tight tolerances. You study the blueprints and BOM, confirm materials, and calculate bend allowances. Then you select the right punches and dies, set up the CNC press brake, horizontal bender, and both turret and inline punches, and fine‑tune programs so tooling locations and applications are spot on.

The first-article run begins. You watch the cycle, listening for irregularities and checking output regularly. Micrometers, height gauges, calipers, and Virtek laser inspection verify every dimension. When a reading trends out of spec, you adjust controls and edit the CNC program to bring it back. Edges and holes are deburred, surfaces are finished with grinders, sanders, and hand tools, and each part is protected between ops.

Throughout the shift, you perform daily maintenance on assigned equipment, move material safely with a forklift or pallet jack, and keep the area audit‑ready. You collaborate with teammates, communicate clearly to direct workflow, and help others when needed—all while meeting routed setup and production times and upholding company policies and procedures.

What You’ll Do

  • Set up and operate CNC press brakes, horizontal bending machines, turret punches, and inline punches to fabricate metallic and non‑metallic parts to spec.
  • Interpret blueprints, manuals, specifications, sample parts, and BOMs; determine tolerances, operation sequence, and setup requirements; calculate bend allowances.
  • Select appropriate dies, accessories, and materials; regulate bending, punching, and forming through precise control settings.
  • Retrieve, input, and edit CNC control media; adjust machine tooling and programs for accurate tooling locations and applications.
  • Monitor operations, detect malfunctions or out‑of‑tolerance conditions, and correct via machine control adjustments.
  • Verify results using micrometers, height gauges, calipers, and Virtek laser inspection; conduct in‑process inspections per drawings.
  • Deburr and protect parts; finish with grinders, sanders, and hand tools.
  • Perform daily equipment maintenance; maintain a clean, orderly 5S work area.
  • Move materials safely with a forklift and/or pallet jack.
  • Promote teamwork, communicate effectively, support company policies, and assist others as needed.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience setting up and operating press brakes; skill selecting punches and dies.
  • Proven ability to recognize out‑of‑spec measurements and make the right adjustments.
  • Fluency reading blueprints in multiple view orientations; ability to interpret BOMs and calculate bend allowances.
  • Experience programming and adjusting CNC values; completing setups and production within routed times.
  • Knowledge of materials, overall sizes, and finish requirements; ability to clean and maintain punches and dies.
  • High school diploma or equivalent may be required; solid reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
  • Comfort using blueprints, tape measures, calipers, and other shop drawing aids.
  • Safety‑first mindset, excellent attendance, adaptability to change, and support for company procedures.
  • Strong mental and visual focus with manual dexterity for sustained periods.

Physical Demands

  • Lift, carry, push, or pull 1–50 lbs frequently.
  • Frequent squatting, kneeling, bending, stooping, twisting, turning, grasping, and reaching overhead/outward.
  • Comfortable sitting, standing, and walking for 1–10 hours per day.
