Job Description

RT Restaurant Group, the team behind RICH TABLE, RT Rotisserie, and RT Bistro, is seeking an experienced and highly organized HR, Payroll & Office Manager to support our growing restaurant group. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment, values professionalism and discretion, and enjoys building strong systems while supporting both restaurant operations and administrative functions behind the scenes.

This position oversees payroll administration, human resources, office management, compliance, and general back-office support across multiple restaurant concepts.

Responsibilities

Payroll & Human Resources

  • Process and manage payroll accurately and on time using Toast Payroll
  • Maintain employee records, onboarding documents, and compliance files
  • Ensure accurate timekeeping, wage compliance, tip reporting, and labor tracking
  • Work with management teams to monitor labor costs and other efficiencies to promote expansion
  • Handle payroll adjustments, deductions, garnishments, and reporting
  • Assist with workers compensation, unemployment claims, and leave administration
  • Coordinate benefits enrollment, COBRA notices, and employee communications
  • Support employee relations, coaching documentation, investigations, and performance management
  • Maintain I-9 compliance and personnel records
  • Assist with recruiting support, job postings, interview scheduling, and offer letters

Office Management & Back Office Support

  • Provide administrative and operational support to ownership and leadership teams
  • Assist with business licenses, health permits, regulatory filings, and compliance documentation
  • Coordinate vendor paperwork, insurance certificates, and general business administration
  • Help manage office organization, recordkeeping, and internal operational systems
  • Support special projects, openings, events, and miscellaneous administrative needs across the restaurant group
  • Assist with policy implementation and process improvement initiatives
  • Serve as a reliable point of contact for day-to-day back-office operations and troubleshooting

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of HR, payroll, office management, or administrative experience, preferably in hospitality or restaurants
  • Strong understanding of California labor laws and payroll compliance (Multi-State is a plus)
  • Experience with Toast Payroll or similar payroll/HR systems preferred
  • Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and shifting operational needs
  • High level of discretion and professionalism
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, Excel, and administrative software systems
