Under the general direction of the Supervisor I, the incumbent works at the advanced level and is responsible for performing the full range of clerical duties in the Central File Room and provides support to the supervisor and analysts in the Discipline Coordination Unit (DCU).  The incumbent is responsible for maintaining the security of public, sensitive, and confidential documents relative to complaint investigation and discipline of physicians and affiliated healing arts professionals; managing the Record Retention Schedule for the Central File Room; scanning associated legal documents received in the DCU into the BreEZe and Disc Image databases; and providing clerical support to the supervisor and analysts in the unit to ensure they are provided with the various legal documents necessary to proceed with their disciplinary cases.

Working Conditions

Candidates who reside outside of the State of California may be admitted to the job interview. However, they must reside in the State of California once they are hired and start working.

Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) which reduces an employee's monthly salary in exchange for leave credits. Employees appointed to this classification will have their monthly salary reduced and will accrue hours of PLP 2025 on the first day of each pay period as outlined on "Section 2113 - Personal Leave Program (PLP)" of the CalHR Manual. The salary range(s) included on this job posting do not reflect the reduction in pay.

Special Requirements

• The position(s) require(s) the ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications (link available in the additional documentation section). You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired. Criminal Offender Record Information: Title 11, section 703 (d) of the California Code of Regulations requires criminal record checks of all personnel who have access to Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI). Pursuant to this requirement, applicants for this position will be required to submit fingerprints to the Department of Justice and be cleared before hiring. In accordance to DCA's (CORI) procedures, clearance shall be maintained while employed in a CORI-designated position. Additionally, the position routinely works with sensitive and confidential issues and/or materials and is expected to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of documents and topics pertaining to individuals or to sensitive program materials at all times.
