SEO Virtual Assistant – Job Description

Apollo Digital is looking to hire 1 (full-time & fully-remote) SEO Virtual Assistant. The perfect candidate should have good written and verbal English, as well as good research skills, with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Learning the foundations of SEO – we will teach you everything; no need to have any SEO experience.
• Learning how to use SEO tools – Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, Semrush, Google Keyword Planner, Google Search Console, WordPress, Sanity, etc.
• Lead generation & prospecting – you will have to go through hundreds and thousands of websites to collect metrics, data, contact information, prospects, etc.
• Manual data entry work – a big chunk of your time will be spent selecting, copying, and pasting data from one spreadsheet to another. A lot of this work can be quite boring.
• Working with Google Sheets – 80% of the work you will be doing requires using spreadsheets in one way or another. Sometimes, you might have to use Airtable instead.
• Helping execute SEO and content audits – you’ll use tools like Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, and Google Sheets to carry out audits for internal and client projects.
• On-page SEO – optimizing web pages based on SEO best practices.
• Doing interlinking – some of our clients have over 1000 pages on their websites. We need someone that can go through hundreds of pages and add internal links to other pages on the same site. We don’t expect you to know what an internal link is – we’ll teach you.
• Uploading blog posts on WordPress, Sanity, or some other CMS – this involves mainly copy-pasting already written content, making sure everything is formatted perfectly.
• Attend daily stand-up calls (20-30 mins per day).
• Be active on our Discord team chat.
• No past professional experience is required – as long as you have the willingness to learn and strong research skills, we’d love to hire you.

Requirements

• Recent graduate with an interest in online marketing.
• Internet and tech-savvy. Do you read digital marketing blogs and books? Hang out on Reddit? Understand business internet lingo? Then you are a perfect fit.
• Good written and verbal English. Our team’s official language is English, and since we work with clients from the US and UK, good English is important for this role.
• Strong research skills. Going through tons of websites and analyzing their data is one of the main things you’ll be doing.
• Research shouldn’t scare you. You should not be afraid of grunt work. A lot of your work as a VA will be time-consuming and menial.
• You should be the type of person who can put on their headphones, zoom into the work, and get it done (even if it’s something boring).
• Analytical skills. You can take instructions/feedback and use it to grow into the role.
• Strong time management skills. You can work flexible hours, as long as you can be responsible for delivering work.
• Proficient with Google Drive products (Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.) or Excel.
• Experience working with project management tools (ClickUp, Asana) is a plus.
• No prior SEO experience required.
