Job Description

Salary: $130,000 - 180,000 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related discipline; Masters degree is preferred
• Over 10 years of experience in control systems, modeling, or algorithm development
• Proficient in Model Predictive Control (MPC), constrained optimization, and state-space control techniques
• Strong understanding of system identification and dynamic modeling concepts
• Skilled in MATLAB/Simulink and Python (including NumPy, SciPy, etc.)
• Familiarity with thermal systems, HVAC, or data center cooling environments
• Capability to work autonomously with substantial independence
• Excellent communication skills and ability to represent engineering functions across departments

• Lead the development of dynamic thermal models and digital twins for data center cooling systems
• Design and implement Model Predictive Control (MPC) algorithms with specified constraints, disturbance models, and safety parameters
• Conduct system identification and state-space modeling tasks
• Develop algorithms for state estimation and observers
• Utilize classical control techniques, including PID, anti-windup, feed-forward, and bumpless transfer
• Optimize control strategies for both air-side and water-side cooling infrastructures
• Collaborate with embedded and IoT teams for algorithm deployment on edge platforms
• Employ MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow/Simscape and Python scientific tools for modeling and simulation
• Oversee algorithm validation through simulation, laboratory testing, and field trials
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff
• Contribute to long-term planning concerning algorithm capabilities and product development
