Job Title: Document Controller (File Management Systems)Location: Houston, TX (or project-based environment)Employment Type: Contract / Full-TimeOverview:We are seeking a detail-oriented Document Controller to support the implementation and maintenance of a File Management System (FMS) within a dynamic, project-driven environment. This role will work closely with project teams, engineering, and quality departments to ensure accurate document handling, organization, and compliance across multiple projects.Key Responsibilities:Manage and maintain project documentation within the File Management System (FMS)Ensure proper document numbering, naming, filing, and version controlSupport full document lifecycle including receipt, distribution, tracking, and archivingMaintain key registers such as Plan Status, External Document Register (EDR), and Internal Document Register (IDR)Ensure all project documents are accurately annotated and compliant with quality standardsOrganize and manage technical documentation from internal and external sourcesProvide document control support across multiple projects simultaneouslyGuide and support project team members in adhering to FMS processes and best practicesAssist with project close-out activities, including document handover and office demobilizationSupport audits by ensuring documentation is complete, accurate, and properly maintainedQualifications:Experience in document control, file management systems, or administrative support is preferredUnderstanding of document control processes, including numbering, filing, and trackingFamiliarity with SharePoint or similar platforms is a plusProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteStrong organizational and multitasking abilitiesExcellent communication skills and attention to detailAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentFluent in English (written and verbal); additional languages are a plusPreferred Experience:Experience supporting engineering, construction, or industrial projectsExposure to Quality Management Systems and document compliance processes
